Prescriber credentialing

Learn how prescribers verify their NPI, state license, DEA information, and screening requirements to enable patient-specific ordering in the MSG portal.

Every prescriber must attest to and enter their own credentials. Clinic staff and administrators cannot enter prescriber credentials on another person’s behalf.

  1. Confirm NPI. Enter the prescriber’s own NPI. The portal checks the federal NPPES registry and compares the registered name with the portal identity.

  2. Enter state license. Provide license number, state, and expiration date. MSG reviews the license against the applicable state board.

  3. Enter DEA information when applicable. Provide the DEA details and schedules required for the intended products.

  4. Complete screening. The portal records NPPES evidence and runs OIG exclusion screening.

  5. Wait for verification. Patient-specific ordering remains unavailable until both NPI and state license are verified.

An expired verified license closes patient-specific ordering automatically. Office-stock ordering remains available to authorized clinic users.
